Fees & Pricing
Trademark owners (like universities, fraternities, sororities, and brands) charge a royalty for using their official names, logos, or insignia.
No. Royalties are set by the trademark owner or institution.
You’ll see the exact royalty fee calculated while finalizing your design, right before you add the item to your cart. It is clearly listed in your design’s pricing overview so there are no surprises at checkout. Your payment, including the royalty fee, is taken when you place your order.
Any college logo, mascot, official seal, or Greek letters associated with a licensed organization. If your design uses 100% original artwork and standard text with no trademarked logos or protected names, no royalty fee or licensing review applies.
How Approvals Work
Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) and Affinity are the official licensing management agencies that review custom apparel on behalf of colleges, universities, and Greek organizations. CollegeWear, Inc. submits your artwork to them on your behalf, so you don’t have to handle the submission process yourself.
Approvals typically take between 1 and 5 business days. The exact timing depends on how quickly the university or organization’s licensing office reviews the submission.
Your estimated delivery timeline starts the moment your artwork is officially approved by the licensing agency, not on the day you place the order. Please refer to our manufacturing page for our most up to date delivery lead-time estimates.
If the licensor requests changes, our team will let you know exactly what revisions are required to get your design approved, then work with you to update and resubmit it. If your design ultimately can’t be approved, you’ll receive a full refund.
Approval confirms your design has been reviewed by the trademark owner’s licensing agency for use of their marks, so your custom apparel is officially authorized.
